The India based Munjals group Hero has launched the country's first ever high-speed electric bikes. Priced at Rs37,400/ the initial launch is in UP followed by other cities in the country. E-Spirit, christened as the bikes rides out, the vehicle will meet the norms of environment protection and the budget of the buyers.
With the single charge, the vehicle will run upto 65km at a maximum speed of 45km/hour. The company seeks VAT exemption from the UP government on the grounds of environment pollution safety. 11 governments have offered VAT exemption for this vehicle in the country.
Few days after launching the XCD 135cc, Bajaj has again said the XCD sprint will come soon. Hope the following the come true soon. "The Yamaha FZ16 and the Honda Stunner are products that we should have watched out for.
We will shortly launch the Sprint that will compete against the 125cc Stunner. We have to arrest the headway made by competition in these segments. It's just a matter of time. We have the products to plug the gaps," S Sridhar, CEO, Bajaj Auto said on December 25th.

Bajaj has finally launched the much awaited XCD 135 today. Powered by 135cc DTS-Si engine, a 5-speed gearbox, auto choke, gas-filled Nitrox shock absorbers,and digital speedometer.The engine develops 10.5bhp at peak.This bike will be placed in a price bracket of Rs.45,000/- ex-showroom Mumbai.
XCD135 DTS-Si also sports following features an electric-start and front disc brake digital cockpit, nitrox rear, low-friction front suspension, twin pilot headlamps and LED tail lamps.The expected mileage is 60-75Km/ltr, it seems a realistic figure. Bajaj also explained further models plans for Indian market.Before quarter two we will see another two sub 135CC bikes from Bajaj and later two premium bikes 150CC and above.
