Woman two-wheeler riders increasing
A recent report from the Motorcycle Industry Association claimed that 14 per cent two-wheeler riders are women. Here in India, women are using two-wheelers at great scale and are not behind men. The women are riding on the scooters and motorcycles and now especially attracting towards bikes. In the bike segment, Hero Honda CD Deluxe, Hero Honda CD Dawn and TVS Star are the most favourite bikes for Indian woman.

Specially college going girls using the motorcycles in heavy number; they can be seen in metro cities of India riding their favourite bike. The TVS Scooty, Hero Honda pleasure, Honda Activa, Mahindra Duro and Mahindra Rodeo, Honda Dio, Kinetic 4S etc. are the most well-liked scooters while TVS Wego is favourite of all age women such as girls, housewives and office going women. TVS and a few others develop scooters that are dedicated for ladies for example TVS Scooty variety is particularly planned to suit women. There is no official statics available in India but rough calculation suggests that bikes and scooters are attracting them. TVS also going to attract Indian women with its TVS Rockz with is the step-thru body type. The scooter cum bike will be launched in the first quarter of 2011. Solar powered bike introduced
TriAuto Bike, an all new invention done by the engineering students is just outstanding possessing three different sources of energy; it can run with solar power, engine, and electric battery. However, it is still a idea developed by some strange students of H.K.B.K College of Banglore, as per media reports. Now when the model is all ready, the four developers are looking for some company which can recognise their capacity and channelize it for mutual benefits. It is to be noted that battery operated two-wheeler are being sold by TVS, Indus, BSA, Ultra Motors, EKO, Global Motors, etc.; nevertheless, no manufactures have come with solar powered bikes in India.

The four students who contributed to the development of this astonishing model are Syed Fahad Ahmed, Mohammed Isham, Ejaz Pasha and Visrant Choudhary of H.K.B.K. College of Bangalore. Dr. J. Fazlur Rehman is known to be the mentor of the students. The bike developed is a ideal model as per today's requirement being environment friendly. It is completely efficient and is made able to run with petrol - I.C. Engine, electricity through mains and solar power through solar panels. The bike being loaded with efficiency is to cost 15 paise/km only and is tagged with an reasonable price range of Rs. 30,000. Other popular bikes by TVS are TVS Apache Hyper Edge, TVS Scooty Pep+, TVS Wego and TVS Centra. The students have also been awarded a prize money of Rs. 51,000 by Mr. S.P. Shah of FADA at the Relio Quick Automall 2010. As per the statements of Syed Fahad Ahmed, a member of developing team, it is known that the model was developed by these four friends in their final semester of engineering. The students were to work on some project using the earlier studied skills and these four decided to work with automobile and kept the aspect of making it environment friendly as the most important.
Honda suffered short strike by workers
As the news come for Hero Honda dissolvement - which sells flagship scooter- Honda Activa - one more thrilling information comes our way from Manesar manufacturing facility of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) which was kept shut on Saturday due to some flash strike that took place on Friday. The famous company in order to avoid any more extensions to the trouble declared a holiday for Saturday and the reason being for this sudden strike was a safety guard who did not stop one of the contractual worker entering the premises without his identity or punching card and dealt with him in a high handed manner. The guard for now has been suspended and work at the facility is on with its original pace. It is said that the strike which took place depict problems to be faced by the Japanese company in managing industrial relations in India after its departing from Hero group.

HMSI, last year as well suffered a loss of Rs. 300 crores because of a strike that got stretched for absolute three months at its Manesar plant by the workers. The facility is able enough of producing 1.6 million two wheelers per annum accounting a daily production of 5,500 vehicles. The company becoming largest of the country plans to set up a new manufacturing facility at Tapukara in Rajasthan of which the company will expect a sum production of 6,00,000 per annum. The company is well equipped with high end technology and advanced features and currently accounts a total sale of around 1.27 million vehicles in a year and plans to extend the number up to 1.55 million by approaching years. The company markets Honda CB Twister, Honda CB Dazzler, Honda Stunner,etc.
