Piaggio India to Unveil Vespa LX 125 Soon
Piaggio India has unveiled the Vespa LX 125 scooter, which the Italian automaker plans to inaugurate in early 2012. The company will manufacture the Vespa LX 125 at its upcoming feature in Baramati, near Pune. The company has sold 17 million vehicles of the Vespa which it produces at Pontedera, Italy, Vinh Phuc and Vietnam. The Baramati plant will have an annual capacity of 1.5 lakh vehicles per annum and is being set up at an investment of 30 million euros.

Vespa LX 125 features automatic 'Twist and Go' transmission and fuel efficient single cylinder four stroke engine. Vespa World Club was formed in 2006, which brings together 35 worldwide Vespa clubs and 685 Italian Vespa clubs to provide a platform that celebrates the Vespa cult. We are looking forward to the reveal of the iconic Vespa in the country soon. The Vespa LX 125 is much more than a scooter – it’s the original, timeless 2-wheeler that has become a way of life in market after market around the world, Mr. Ravi Chopra, MD and Chairman, Piaggio India said.
BSA Motors launches “Edge” and “Roamer Able”
BSA Motors , a Strategic Business Unit of Tube Investments of India (TII) which is part of the Rs. 15,907 crores Murugappa Group, launched its next generation electric scooter BSA Edge at the 10th Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi. Alongwith this launch, the company also unveiled India's first electric scooter designed especially for the differently-abled - BSA Roamer Able . Besides, the company also showcased the technological might with a display of several electric scooters and fast charging systems from their stable.
Edge, the newest addition in the company's e-scooter portfolio, will be attractively priced at Rs. 35, 500 (ex-showroom price Delhi) and is available in 4 attractive colours. With Roamer Able, the company has introduced an in-built reverse mechanism (first time ever in India) which enables the rider to reverse the vehicle with the ease of a switch. Roamer Able will be launched in the Indian market by the end of the month and will be priced at Rs. 35, 300 (ex-showroom price Delhi). It will be available in four eclectic colours.
