Honda to Invest Rs. 300 crores in Next Three Years

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) stated that the company will invest Rs 300 crore in next three years. According to HMSI General Manager-Operating Head (Sales and Marketing) Naresh Kumar Rattan, this investment is a part of its expansion plans in India that will not only include better market presence but also upgradation of the plant capacity in Manesar.

"The company, which has invested Rs 900 crore since its inception in 2001, will further invest around Rs 300 crore for expansion plans and launch a new range of vehicles in the future," he said on the sidelines of the launch of Honda's upgraded scooter 'Activa'.

"Honda has a strong vision for Indian market and will look for opportunities in these challenging times. We will invest Rs 300 Crore in the next three years for launching new products and expanding capacities of our plant," said Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) President and CEO, Mr. Shinji Aoyama.

All New Bike from Bajaj Next Month

Bajaj is planning to launch its new motorcycle in India. The company has experienced a fall in sales since past few months. It will launch its new model to revive its sales figures. Sales for Bajaj Auto fell by 37 percent in November 2008.

According to the auto analysts, the launch of a new model will squeeze the profit margins for the company. High interest rates and the slowdown in the demand have already left the auto makers ailing not only in India but also worldwide. The dealers have also cut back purchases to avoid piling up inventories at their end.

Bajaj is also offering cheaper financing options with the help of its group company, Bajaj Auto Finance Limited. The company will finance all the vehicles purchased from the Bajaj dealer and will offer cheaper loan options to its customers. Bajaj motorcycles are 125cc which cater to the domestic demands from urban India. This segment has been severely hit by the ongoing credit crunch in the country.

Suzuki To Launch Hayabusa & Intruder

After the launch of the Yamaha R1 and MT01 other bike manufacturers have expressed their desire of launching superbikes from their stable as well. Suzuki has been planning to launch its sports bikes since quite some time now.

Finally Suzuki will be launching two superbikes in India officialy on the 26th of this month. Suzuki will be launching the hyper sports bike the Hayabusa and sports cruiser the Suzuki Intruder. The Hayabusa is well known for being the first bike to break the 300 kmph barrier. We expect Suzuki to price the bikes very competitevely so as to give direct competition to Yamaha's super bikes.

After the YZF R15 , then the FZ16 - Yamaha is going to launch a new 125cc bike - The R125 . The R125 is a scaled down version of the R15 which itself is a scaled down version of the all conquering R1. It actually looks much better than the R15 and whether Yamaha will bring the R125 as such is still skeptical.
