Suzuki India to Launch GW250 in April 2011

Suzuki bikes manufacturers are going to unveil the Suzuki GW250 in indian market in upcoming days. The bike with muscular line and an imposing stance will have street presence to dominate the Kawasaki Ninja and Honda CBR250R. On the front performance, the Suzuki GW250 will come furnished with a 250cc four stroke liquid cooled engine which generates maximum power of 26 bhp 8500 rpm and 24Nm of utmost torque at 7000 rpm while the power of Suzuki GW250 is in the league of CBR250R, the maximum torque is less.

The weight of the Suzuki GW250 is more than the Honda CBR250 with those chunky side panels. No official announcement has been made by the company but we anticipate competitive pricing from Suzuki Bikes, and expect that the GW250 should retail with a worth tag of 1.6 to 1.8 lakh rupees. The Suzuki GW250 would be a worthy challenger to the Honda bikes 250 at that cost point.

Bajaj fails to sell 4 million bikes in 2010-11

The country’s most important 2 and 3-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto said on Wednesday that it will miss its before set goal of selling a total of 4 million units in the present financial, blaming the underperformance in domestic sales. However, the company has maintained that its success will still keep on unaffected in the period. As par the newest statement given by Bajaj Auto President Finance Kevin D’sa, to PTI," When we decide the target of selling 4 million vechicles this financial, we knew it was a very challenging one. Now, we feel we will end this economic with about 3.85 million units." Further adding together that missing target will not influence company’s profitability, Mr. D’sa said, "In terms of profitability, with 3.85 million vechicles we will exceed the internal success aim that we set, while projecting a sales of 4 million units." So far in the first 3 quarters of current economic year, the corporation has sold 9,28,000 units, 1 million units and 9,46,850 units, respectively. In quarter ended in Dec 2010, Bajaj Auto registered a 40.4 per cent jump in its net income to Rs 667.11 crore as compared to the net gain of Rs 475.14 crore in the same period last year.

All New Kawasaki Z750R To Enter Market

Kawasaki Z750. It has been one of the most successful entry-level super bikes with middle weight chassis and ¾ liter inline-4 engine (750cc). It is a beast with exotic sharp looks and powerful, wild character. In this year – 2011, new model is coming to the market, it’s Z750R. One of the reasons it rolled out into market is that last year sales of Z750 model dropped significantly, so Japanese engineers decided to generate something more unusual and exciting. Judging by new features it seems that upgrade of the Kawasaki Z750 will be very well worth the money.

New redesigned looks are quite dramatic and really catchy. This model looks really violent as well, and has enormous feature of attraction. These changes also allowed for greater aerodynamics, which resulted in better performance. While it’s a major change it’s not all. Engine remained the same, but it proved itself as very consistent and efficient. Liquid cooled, DOHC, 16 valve 748cc power unit produces very impressive 106bhp @ 10,500 rpm and maximum torque is claimed to be 78.5Nm @ 8300 rpm. While numbers are the same it’s still very impressive motor. One of important changes was brakes – now Z750R is equipped with beefy and intense four-piston radial-mount brakes and huge 300mm rotors. There is also ABS option. Rear brake is 250mm with very sophisticated setup – caliper is floating single-piston unit. In addition all rotors are much thicker (from 4.5 to 6mm).

Even older model had great stopping power, but brakes on this upgraded version will be out of control. Also the Z750R features new forks, which were taken from 2009 Z1000 model. And lighter swingarm fabricated from cast and stamped aluminum elements with new rear shock. All this should offer minor improvement in handling and comfortl of the bike. Other slight changes are: R-model sporty instrumentation, sharper twist signals, both side adjustability on front suspension and sporty looking 2-tone coloring. The new Kawasaki Z750R weights 224kg (wet), which still seems a bit bulky, but in reality it handles and accelerates really well, despite it’s heavier than Z1000 on 6kg. The rate will be higher by $700-$800 (~Rs. 35,000-39,000), which is quite fair for these solid improvements.

Honda To Sell Used Bikes

Honda’s two-wheeler division is planning to setup pre-owned business of its own in the country. The company has started a trial revision at select dealerships in Bangalore, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. These pre-owned dealerships will be setup separately from its existing dealerships and will challenge Hero Honda Sure (Hero Honda’s used two-wheeler business).

Other most popular Honda bikes are: Active, Active Deluxe, CB Shine and CB Twister. However Hero Honda Sure deals with exchange of old vehicle with a new Hero Honda bike, whereas Honda will deal directly with the sale and purchase of Honda motorcycles and scooters with customers. There will be no compulsion of exchange involved in the process.

AMG to sponsor Ducati MotoGP team

Ducati Motors, Italian two wheeler manufacturer which known for its superclass bikes, has collaborated with AMG, as a result AMG will sponsor Ducati MotoGP team and both the partners will start joint marketing activities. AMG is the German popular four wheeler maker and always participates in the four wheeler race and now ready to enter in world famous bike race, MotoGP. Now AMG is the partner of Ducati and will sponsor Ducati MotoGP team. Now the company will organise all the activities with AMG. It is expected that Ducati Diavel will participate in MotoGP 2011 race.

The company has been participating in this race for many year and won several titles including World Superbike Championship and 2007 MotoGP season. Both the companies are very exciting to work together and ready to participate in MotoGP 2011 race. BMW to provide Free Satellite Radio

BMW Motorrad the world most popular super bike manufacturer and subsidiary of BMW Motors is going to make new experiment in its 2011 BMW Touring bikes in international market. The company is to provide Free Satellite Radio in all the 2011 models of Touring bikes. BMW's three most popular series such as R, and K bikes like R 1200 RT, K 1600 GT, and K 1600 GTL which are the touring motorcycles will be equipped with this features. The company has tied-up with German popular Radio named SIRIUS XM Radio. The production service will be started from January 2011. According to this tie-up, the SIRIUS Radio pack will have all the equipments and components to fit in the bikes.

The SIRIUS XM Radio to provide its services in BMW Motorcycle for one year, as per this tie-up. Now the rider will enjoy 135 channels and can listen latest sports commentary, News, Talk, entertainment and commercial free music service. The company might launch the same services in India as it is going to launch a few BMW bike in India. The BMW's coming bike are BMW K1300s, BMW S 1000RR, BMW R1200GS, BMW K 1600 GT and BMW K 1300 GT.

Honda VTR 250 and CBX Twister in India next year

These both upcoming bikes are Honda VTR 250 and Honda CBX Twister. It is expected that these bikes might be launched by the end of 2011. The company has already announced the launch of Honda CBR 250R in India. Honda VTR 250 and Honda CBX Twister are powered by approx same powerplant. Both the upcoming bikes are having almost same appearance while the Honda CBR 250R carries sporty and robust looks. Already these bikes are running on the overseas roads and now expected in India. Hero group plans to raise exports

Hero Honda, a partnership between Honda Group of Japan and Munjal Group of India, has come to an end and is to sign a final dissolvement agreement soon after four weeks. With this departion of two companies, the Hero Honda Group discloses to increase exports with its bike and scooter segment. The company currently is selling its bikes in countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar and is planning to further extend itself in countries like Latin America, Africa, East Europe and Asia.

After the split of Hero Honda, the first vendors' conference took place recently in which executives from key suppliers like those of Motherson Sumi, Sunbeam Auto, Minda Industries, Rico Auto, Falcon Tyres, Lumax Industries, Sandhar Technologies, Omax, Excide Batteries, Sriram Pistons and MRF Tyres participated. As per official statements of the Munjal group, it is said that the Hero group is to work hard so as to compete with its previous partner Honda and to spread its market internationally. The company has good quantity of popular products including Hero Honda Hunk, Hero Honda Glamour, Hero Honda Splendor+, Hero Honda Passion Pro, etc. The dissolvement took place with an agreement of Honda selling 26% stakes to India's Munjal Group. With this the Hero group is to acquire a total of 52% share of Hero Honda. The company with a view to maintain its prominent position in the market is planning to attain a target of 5.4 million units per year. Also it is said that the company is not to stop delivering its best selling models that are Hero Honda Passion and Hero Honda Splendor.

Honda launches CB1000R in the United States

Honda Motors- the world's largest two wheeler manufacturer has announced the launch of its most well-liked supersports bike named Honda CB1000R for the United State and Canada market. The bike has been available in European market from several years and now ready to hit American roads. The company has not announced price of the bike but it might be priced between the $8000-$10000 range. It is to be noted that the bike is already available in Indian market. American Honda Motor Co. has already displayed and announced this bike for the US and Canada during the EICMA expo in Italy.

The company is claiming to unveil this motorcycle by spring of 2011. Honda CB1000R is a supersports motorcycle that has a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected inline four-cylinder, 998cc powerplant. This energetic engine produces 123 hp of peak power at 10,000 rpm and 73 lb-ft of torque at 7750 rpm. The features rich bike comes loaded with 43mm suspension and 310mm large disc brakes while appearance of the bike is awesome that attracts everybody. “The Honda CB1000R fills a great position in today’s market as we now bring a very competent sport machine packed with high-performance features to riders who focus on street use -wherever and whatever their destination may be,” said American Honda Powersports Press Manager Bill Savino in a press release. Honda has recently announced Honda CBR 250R for India and it is expected to be offered at Rs 1.50 lakh.

Ducati To Expand Dealership Network

The company is seeing huge potential for its bikes in the country and thus hopes to make India as the top 5 Ducati markets in the world.
