Hero Honda sales down 10.2% in December 2008

Hero Honda has reported a 10.2% decline in sales for December 2008, at 215,931 units, against 240,532 units sold in December 2007. However, the company posted a 9% growth in sales for calendar year 2008, selling 3.6 million units during the year, compared to 3.3 million units sold in 2007.

Bajaj Auto Cuts Prices

Bajaj Auto has cut prices of its vehicles by up to Rs 4,400 on account of four per cent reduction in CENVAT. The prices of two-wheelers have been reduced by up to Rs 2,100, while that of three-wheelers have been cut by up to Rs 4,400, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) said in a statement.

"Bajaj Auto has passed on the benefit of the excise reduction in the CENVAT rate reduction to its customers. The prices have been reduced on vehicles billed to dealers with immediate effect," it added.

Hero Honda launches new CBZ X-treme ATFT

Hero Honda which today launched new Passion Pro power start and Splendor NXG also launched new CBZ X-treme ATFT and new Pleasure. The new CBZ X-treme comes engine with ATFT technology that first seen in Hunk.

It also gets clear lens turn indicators and two tone graphics. The rear alloy gets sporty orange shade. The price of the new CBZ X-treme is yet to be announced.

Hero Honda sales up 22.47%

Hero Honda has reported a 22.47% jump in sales in September this year, at 385,262 units, as against 314,567 units in the same month last year.

CBZ Xtreme ATFT

The company said its cumulative sales for the April-September period this year stood at 1,866,349 units, as against 1,559,486 units in the corresponding period last year, reflecting a 19.68% growth.

Hero Honda will soon launch new Cbz Xtreme . It will get new stickers and body graphics over its body panels. But the upgrade is not just limited to body panels the heart will also see a upgrade. The new CBZ X-treme will get the Hero Honda's ATFT (Advanced Tumble Flow induction technology).

It will also get tuff-up tube in the rear wheel. This proven puncture resistant technology first seen in Honda's Unicorn which minimizes the incidents of sudden puncture by 70%. But the stiff ride of CBZ X-treme might continue as there is no mention of GRS (Gas Reservoir Suspension) in the new X-treme's features list. The new CBZ X-treme will also get Hero Honda's unique anti kick back device which ensures kick lever doesn't kick back.

Hero Honda August sales up 27%

Hero Honda has reported a 26.84 percent jump in its domestic sales in August, at 305,516 units, against 240,875 units in the corresponding month last year. The cumulative sales for the April-August period this year stood at 1,481,077 units, compared with 1,244,919 units in the corresponding period last year, reflecting an 18.97 percent growth.

According to Hero Honda , the company has strengthened its share in the domestic motorcycle market by over 55 percent. 'Our strategy is yielding results. However, the industry continues to face uncertainty on account of high interest rates and overall credit squeeze,' says Anil Dua, Hero Honda's Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales. The coming festival month of October would be crucial in determining the overall outlook of the industry for the rest of the year, he added.
