The company has started a trial revision at select dealerships in Bangalore, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. These pre-owned dealerships will be setup separately from its existing dealerships and will challenge Hero Honda Sure (Hero Honda’s used two-wheeler business).

Other most popular Honda bikes are: Active, Active Deluxe, CB Shine and CB Twister. However Hero Honda Sure deals with exchange of old vehicle with a new Hero Honda bike, whereas Honda will deal directly with the sale and purchase of Honda motorcycles and scooters with customers. There will be no compulsion of exchange involved in the process.

Honda CB Twister which is the Honda's 110cc commuter segment bike has been awarded by the bike of the year 2011. The award has been given by JK Tyre in association with the top auto magazines in India. On the other hand, Ford Figo is declared the car of the year in small car segment.

The IMOTY category Honda CB Twister reached on this position after beating its major competitors Bajaj Pulsar 135 and TVS Jive which are also popular bikes in India. According to survey report, the Honda CB Twister got 66 points against Bajaj Pulsar 135 with 63 points and TVS Jive with 48 points. Senior automobile experts judged these most impressive bike and car of the year. The voting was based on price, fuel efficiency, design, comfort, safety, manoeuvrability, performance, functionality, environmental responsibility and driver/rider satisfaction, etc. In the ICOTy Category, Ford Figo got 83 points against Volkswagen Vento with 57 points, Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Yeti with 37 points each. The nomination committee has finalised few bikes in the IMTY category like Bajaj Pulsar 135LS, Bajaj Discover 150, Honda CB Twister, Mahindra Stallio, TVS Jive and TVS Max4R. But Honda CB Twister has finalised as the winner. In the ICOT Category Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Nissan Micra, Skoda Yeti, Tata Aria, Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Vento were short listed, but Ford Figo has got crown of 'The car of the year 2011'.

Since the launch of the CB Twister , Honda has received around 20,000 bookings for the stylish commuter and successfully delivered over 50% of that volume (11,000 bikes) to its customers. The bike looks very sporty and aggressive in terms of looks and styling. It seems the designers had high end super bikes of Honda while designing the CB Twister. The 110cc engine of Honda CB Twister generates maximum power of 9 Bhp at 8000 rpm with maximum torque of 9 Nm @ 6000 rpm which are more or less same like we have seen in New Honda Aviator & Honda Activa.

Honda India is betting big on the Indian market. The company expects to sell approximately 1.25 million two-wheelers in the ongoing fiscal year 2009-10 and continue this growth by selling 1.5 million units in 2010-11. The company is also very upbeat about its recently launched 110cc mass-commuter, the CB Twister , expecting it to sell around 220,000 units this year.

Its plant at Manesar, Haryana, has brimmed its full capacity of 1.5 million units per annum and the company is conducting a study on the feasibility of setting up its second plant in the country. Honda was considering to leave Haryana, where its existing factory is located, due to the labour unrest last year as the Japanese major incurred a loss of over Rs 300 crore due to the labour issue. Back in 2005 the firm had witnessed a violent strike by workers that shook the Gurgaon-Manesar belt.

"We are not averse to Haryana," HMSI's Operating Head, Sales and Marketing N K Rattan stated, speaking on the topic of the location of the second plant. He also added that a formal announcement on the topic is expected by next month-end. The buzz is that HMSI is considering the three major auto hubs of the country, namely Manesar-Gurgaon, Pune and Chennai to set up the above mentioned plant.
