Yamaha to recall over 50,000 bikes
Two-wheeler giant, Yamaha Motor Co. will recall a staggering 53,814 motorcycles due to one minor accident. The Japanese firm will rectify the defect in rear-wheel shock absorbers of all the recalled motorcycles. The motorcycle firm revealed in a statement that the affected model is Yamaha TW200 built between 1987 and 2001. This model was not officially launched in India.
Six reports were registered with Yamaha complaining about the joint part's lack of tenacity. The problem could result in a breakdown of the part and a loss of stability. As mentioned above one rider in the accident was slightly injured when a TW200E motorcycle with the defect scraped a guardrail.
