Kawasaki Ninja gets overwhelming response in Karnataka

Kawasaki Ninja 250R, the first multi cylinder entry-level sports bike by Kawasaki, has been sold all over the country that accounts for 1000 units. And the interesting insight is this one, Karnataka has emerged as one of the top market in India in terms of sales of Kawasaki Ninja 250R; 100 Ninja's have been sold in this southern state. This bike is priced at Rs. 269,000 at ex-showroom Delhi. The company is enjoying this record along with first anniversary of Bangalore Pro-biking showroom; a Ninja rally was organised to celebrate the success and first year completion. Kawasaki is a Japan based worldwide two-wheeler maker and it is selling its bikes in India through Bajaj Pro-biking showrooms. It has 32 showrooms 30 cities while Karnataka is having two provisions at Mangalore and Bangalore.

Kawasaki Ninja 250R is equipped with a astonishing 249cc, DHOC, four stroke, power mill which belts out 33PS of maximum power at 11,000 rpm and generates, harnessing low torque of 22 NM at 8200 rpm. This powerful engine of the bike market it sports and classy bike. The bike is available in three basic colours like Green, Black and Blue. Out of these shades, Green is the most popular body colour among bike lovers. Kawasaki Ninja 250R is giving fierce fight to most popular Bajaj Pulsar 220 cc and Hero Honda Karizma, in terms of engine displacement and performance. Overwhelmed by the response to Ninja 250R, the company is going to launch its big siblings namely Kawasaki Ninja 400R, Kawasaki Ninja 650R and Kawasaki Ninja ZX14 next year.

Bajaj auto MD Rajiv Bajaj has confirmed that a 650cc Kawasaki bike is being considered for the Indian market by the end of 2010. Bajaj recently celebrated the sale of 1000 Kawasaki Ninja 250R motorcycles in India and the beginning of Kawasaki's completely owned Indian subsidery, 'India Kawasaki Bikes Pvt Ltd'. Riding high on the Ninja 250R's success, Kawasaki want to focus on launching multi cyclinder sport bikes in India under the Ninja brand.

• Liquid-cooled, DOHC, 8-valve fuel injected twin cylinder delivers smooth, responsive performance, especially in the low to medium rpm range
• Excellent mid-range power, exceptional roll-on response and impressive passing performance make even commuter traffic enjoyable
• Minimal vibration via a 180° crankshaft driven balancer shaft, which in turn drives the water pump
• Oil jets on the connecting rod big ends spray oil on the undersides of the pistons to aid cooling

• Coolant routing travels directly to the engine cases, then follows internal passages to the cylinder and head for minimum external plumbing and a simplified cooling system

Kawasaki and Bajaj at a Rally in Pune

To bash the Indian roads with Japanese technology Kawasaki and Bajaj Bikes together organised a rally in Pune. The main purpose behind the rally was to celebrate Kawasaki Ninja on Indian roads. 1000 Ninja's were commemorated in the Rally, and the event was honoured by the owners of the Ninja 250R. The rally was organised at Hotel Le Meridian. Along with the big move for Ninja, the company also made a crucial announcement of operations of “India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd.” which is a fully owned subsidiary of Kawasaki.

As we all know the official announcement of Kawasaki Ninja 250R was made in the month of October last year. With this one successful year in India, Kawasaki marked the sales of the 1000th Kawasaki Ninja 250R in India. The company has a tie up with Bajaj Auto to handle the retailing of its product in India with 32 showrooms across 30 cities.

The officials of Bajaj Auto Limited stated that they will take full responsibility of the bike sales and services without discriminating on the basis of location of owners in India. Talking about the production capacity of Bajaj Auto Ltd, it is capable of producing 100 bikes a month at the plant situated in Chakan. Kawasaki is also looking forward for other ranges of bike in Indian markets. The reason behind is the huge success of Kawasaki Ninja .

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Tanigawa, MD, IKM, said, The launch of Kawasaki Ninja 250R has been a great success and the sales of the bikes has exceeded our expectations.
