Kawasaki Z750. It has been one of the most successful entry-level super bikes with middle weight chassis and ¾ liter inline-4 engine (750cc). It is a beast with exotic sharp looks and powerful, wild character. In this year – 2011, new model is coming to the market, it’s Z750R. One of the reasons it rolled out into market is that last year sales of Z750 model dropped significantly, so Japanese engineers decided to generate something more unusual and exciting. Judging by new features it seems that upgrade of the Kawasaki Z750 will be very well worth the money.

New redesigned looks are quite dramatic and really catchy. This model looks really violent as well, and has enormous feature of attraction. These changes also allowed for greater aerodynamics, which resulted in better performance. While it’s a major change it’s not all. Engine remained the same, but it proved itself as very consistent and efficient. Liquid cooled, DOHC, 16 valve 748cc power unit produces very impressive 106bhp @ 10,500 rpm and maximum torque is claimed to be 78.5Nm @ 8300 rpm. While numbers are the same it’s still very impressive motor. One of important changes was brakes – now Z750R is equipped with beefy and intense four-piston radial-mount brakes and huge 300mm rotors. There is also ABS option. Rear brake is 250mm with very sophisticated setup – caliper is floating single-piston unit. In addition all rotors are much thicker (from 4.5 to 6mm).

Even older model had great stopping power, but brakes on this upgraded version will be out of control. Also the Z750R features new forks, which were taken from 2009 Z1000 model. And lighter swingarm fabricated from cast and stamped aluminum elements with new rear shock. All this should offer minor improvement in handling and comfortl of the bike. Other slight changes are: R-model sporty instrumentation, sharper twist signals, both side adjustability on front suspension and sporty looking 2-tone coloring. The new Kawasaki Z750R weights 224kg (wet), which still seems a bit bulky, but in reality it handles and accelerates really well, despite it’s heavier than Z1000 on 6kg. The rate will be higher by $700-$800 (~Rs. 35,000-39,000), which is quite fair for these solid improvements.

Bajaj-Kawasaki have quietly launched the 2011 Ninja in India. But before you get very excited let us first discuss what is different between the 2010 and 2011 Ninja 250R versions. Well not much, both the models are totally identical expect the 2011 Ninja 250R gets white coloured instrument cluster, compared to the black coloured one the 2010 Ninja 250R featured.

Other than that, the 2011 version gets new colours but those won’t make it to India. Kawasaki India has made no announcements about the release of the 2011 models but all new Ninja 250Rs have the white coloured instrument cluster, which makes us believe this was a silent upgrade. Nothing to announce anyways.

• Lightweight plug-mounted ignition coils deliver a hot spark and save space
• High-capacity radiator for increased cooling efficiency
• Coolant routing travels directly to the engine cases, then follows internal passages to the cylinder and head for minimum external plumbing and a simplified cooling system
• Fuel injection settings boosts the engine’s bottom-end torque while letting it rev quicker
• Sub-throttle valve equipped 38mm Keihin throttle bodies offer optimum performance and rideability
• Located behind the main throttle valves, the sub-throttles are controlled by the DFI® system’s ECU for a precise throttle response, similar to a constant-velocity carburetor
• Auto-fast idle system simplifies starting and helps ensure that the catalyzer reaches optimum temperature quickly
• Lightweight fuel pump mounted inside the fuel tank
• Powerful twin-cylinder engine is the most compact in its category, which helps reduce the dimension of the entire motorcycle and allows use of a slim, minimalist frame
• Triangular setup of the crankshaft and transmission shafts makes the engine short front-to-back
• Transmission input shaft, output shaft and change drum are contained in a “cassette”-style package that allows a compact layout and eases transmission maintenance chores
• Semi-dry sump design reduces engine height
• Plated, linerless aluminum cylinders with a narrow cylinder pitch keep the engine light and slim
• Efficient fuel injection and a three-way catalyzer inside the exhaust produce very low emissions, able to pass the stringent Euro-III emission regulations
• 300-cell catalyzer is compact and light
• Under-engine muffler placement for mass centralization and a low center of gravity.

The Japanese company who has been availing the world with the best and the most enhanced bikes ever has announced its official entry to the Indian bike world soon.

Bajaj India has announced the launch date for much awaited Kawasaki Ninja 250R , it is going to be launched on 5th October and deliveries will start before diwali. But it is not going to compete with R15 and Karizma ZMR because of its price which will be around 1.60 -1.90 lakhs.

Kawasaki has marketed the Ninja 250R since 1986 as an entry-level sport motorcycle intended for use on paved roads. The bike is marketed in the US as the Ninja 250R, as the ZX250 in the UK, and as the GPX250 elsewhere.

It is an entry level sports motorcycle with a fairing made further as if an actual off-road sports bike. Bajaj along with Kawasaki will be marketing it in India and is soon expected to be seen in the market in Bajaj Pro biking showrooms.

According to a Bloomberg report, Kawasaki will start shifting the production of some of its medium-sized and large motorcycles from Japan to Thailand, from next year. The aim would be to take advantage of lower costs and cheaper labour in Thailand. Kawasaki isn't the first major motorcycle manufacturer to go to Thailand - Triumph already has two manufacturing facilities in that country.

Kawasaki remains the only Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer that still hasn't managed to set up operations in India. The company does have some kind of an agreement in place with Bajaj Auto though, and the latter is expected to launch the Kawasaki Ninja 250R in India before the end of this year.

Big Green are now getting… greener. In keeping with newer, stricter C02 emissions norms, Kawasaki, in Europe, are now offering their 'ECO2Logic' technology on some of their bikes - the ones with less than 100bhp.

The 2009 Kawasaki Z750 will be the first bike to be equipped with ECO2Logic, which we think represents tweaks to the fuel-injection and exhaust systems to minimise emissions.
